In addition to reducing water consumption during backwashing, Watercel ZN can increase the filtration cycle and improve the quality of the filtered water. Because it has a density approximately 30% lower than sand, a smaller quantity of Watercel ZN is required to fill the same filter. Unlike sand, which tends to concentrate particle retention on the surface of the filter bed, Watercel ZN promotes depth filtration, allowing for greater solids retention throughout the filter media and longer filtration runs. Furthermore, its density is approximately 30% lower than that of sand, which allows using less material to fill the same filter. This characteristic contributes directly to reducing water consumption during backwashing.
